The website developed as a consequence of my desire to be able to leave a message to my loved ones - should anything happen to me. When discussing this with friends and colleagues the conversation meandered into who might use the service, and why.

We discussed the obvious potential users such as older parents, then we realised that in fact we all would benefit from this, whatever our age, because we never know when things might happen. This was the inspiration for .
